Bill Pay FAQs

Who is Eligible for Bill Pay?
This service is available for any Cape Cod Cooperative consumer customer. You must have a Cape Cod Cooperative Bank Checking Account and meet the Internet Browser requirements. Business customers who wish to have Online Bill Payment services can sign up for eBusinessBanker.

How Much Does Bill Pay Cost?
Nothing, It's Free!

How much lead time do you need to pay bills online?
When making a payment, you should schedule it AT LEAST 5-8 BUSINESS days in advance of its due date. If you are setting up a new payee, please allow 10 BUSINESS days for the payment to reach the payee.

When setting up an online bill payment, what is the date that they ask you for?
That would be the date you would like your money to be taken out of your account and a check to be mailed to your payee. Please DO NOT confuse this with the payment due date on your bill.

Is it possible to schedule recurring payments?
Yes. You can schedule weekly, semi-monthly and monthly recurring payments.

How do I register for Bill Pay?
Bill Payment registration is easy! Please either stop into a branch to fill out the E-Banking application or you can click here and print out the form, fill it out at your convenience and either drop it off at a branch or mail it to:

Can I use electronic bill payment with all my accounts?
Only checking accounts can be used for bill payment purposes.

When is bill payment available?
You can schedule payments 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Are my bill payment transactions reflected as Online Banking transactions?
All bill payment transactions become part of the Online Banking transaction history and show up on your statements with the rest of your transaction history.

How do I add new payees?
You can add payees by accessing “New Scheduled Payment” in the Payments dropdown menu in Online Banking. New payees will be added to the payee list immediately. Please note that the first payment to a new payee must be scheduled at least 10 business days prior to due date.

Can bill payment be used when I am out of the country?
Bill payment provides you with peace of mind when you are traveling for an extended period of time. All you need is access to the Internet with a secure browser and you can pay your bills while out of the country. Payees must be located within the 50 United States and Territories.

If I schedule multiple bill payments for a single day, how will my account be debited - as a lump sum or separately?
Each bill payment is debited separately.

If I make an error in selecting an electronic payee and it results in a late fee, am I responsible for the charges?
If you select an electronic payee with an address that is different from that indicated on the payment coupon, then you are responsible for the late fee. You always have the option to manually enter a different address for a payee. We suggest that you periodically review the addresses assigned to your Online Bill Payment payees to ensure currency and to avoid mis-mailings and late fees.

How do I place a 'stop payment' on a bill payment?
Call the Cape Cod Cooperative Bank Deposit Services Department at 508.568.3200 during regular business hours and they can place a stop payment ONLY if the check has not yet cleared.
